This position is located in the Intermountain NPS Regional Office (Serving Interior Regions 6, 7 and 8) in the Regional Director's Office.
Duties
This position is the Associate Regional Director of Business and Technology and serves as the principal strategic business manager for the Intermountain Region (IMR). The position has direct line authority for the planning, policy, execution, management, and supervision of all budget, financial management and administrative activities and functions in the region. Functions include: Budget, Finance, Strategic Analysis, Commercial Services, Internal Controls, Property Management, Information Technology, Fees, and Learning and Organization Development.
The position of oversees administrative support and advisory services to 84 park units in the 8-state region, as well as to the regional office employees located.
Guides and facilities inter- and intra-office collaboration and coordination among the various components of the region and with the Washington Office to strategically manage relationships and uplevel organization effectiveness.
Oversees strategic consulting work in support of parks and programs, including workforce and budget planning efforts and management reviews. Provides liaison between the IMR Regional Office for all human resources, employee relations, contracting and financial assistance functions.
Serves as a member of the regional senior leadership team and assists the Regional Director in a variety of management programs associated with the conduct and performance of administrative and management functions and activities within the IMR.

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: work in a medium to large sized organization providing comprehensive advisory services to senior management and employees in a centralized administrative services program for widely dispersed clients in areas such as: business operations, budget and finance, program management, procurement, information management, and concessions. Additional specialized experience includes applying a variety of Federal laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines to plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a complex administrative program; and supervising administrative and program staff.. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
