You will serve as a GENERAL BUSINESS & INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST in the SAN DIEGO OPERATIONS, PROJECT DIVISION of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.
Duties
You will coordinate, monitor, and expedite the production efforts of the SUPSHIP office and supporting NAVSEA activities throughout the ship construction period focusing on events necessary to assure timely ship delivery.
You will monitor the activities and problems confronting the shipbuilder and various SUPSHIP Detachment San Diego departments by conducting regular conferences.
You will establish/maintain a production reporting system to keep the Program Manager’s Representative (PMR) and others informed of ship status and associated issues.
You will develop and provide comprehensive and timely production management reports, briefings and presentations to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Ship's Acquisition Project Manager, PMR, and other key Government activities.
You will explain team goals and objectives, and assist the team in organizing to accomplish its work.
You will coordinate the accomplishment of authorized new or modified work by the contractor.
You will coordinate engineering reviews, technical approvals, cost reviews, and assists with contract negotiation of "in-process" changes.
You will participate in the compartment close out inspection process, trials, transits, dry-dockings and special events.
You will serve as the Post Delivery Group Team Leader, supervising and managing the work of a multi-functional team assigned in both the planning and availability execution phases.
You will consult with, and/or participate in formal and informal conferences with contractors, subcontractors, ship's force, and representatives of other Government agencies to resolve technical problems.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing oversight for the design and construction of ships built at contactor facilities (e.g., Coordinating, monitoring, and expediting the production efforts of the SUPSHIP office and supporting NAVSEA activities throughout the ship construction period) to assure timely ship delivery.
