This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant Mission Support (DCMS), Operational Logistics Command (LOGCOM), Office of Resource Management (LOG-8), Comptroller Division (LOG-83) in Norfolk, VA.
Duties
This position serves as the Deputy Chief, Budget Execution Branch, for the Coast Guard Operational Logistics Command (LOGCOM) in Norfolk, VA. The Budget Execution Branch mission coordinates and manages financial, personnel, and property resources for LOGCOM, their sub-units and supported units.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
Candidates at the GS-14 level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience include: supervising/Lead/managing/coordinating a team of financial analysts conducting reviews of financial/accounting activities; detailed, intensive knowledge of the policies, precedents, goals, objectives, regulations, and guidelines of a functional area such as financial oversight, budget formulation, and/or budget execution sufficient to: analyze and evaluate continual changes in program plans and funding and their effect of financial and budget program milestones; and analyze financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for financial and/or budgetary actions under adverse/unfavorable conditions (e.g., gaps and conflicts in program and financial/budgetary information) and time pressures (e.g., uncertainty due to short and rapidly changing program and financial/budgetary deadlines and objectives). Working knowledge of applicable legislation, statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures to develop policy documents, technical assistance papers, and other materials requiring in-depth expertise in financial theory, techniques, and methodologies, In-depth knowledge of the organization and operations of resource management systems.
