The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Cybersecurity Branch Chief and unit Cybersecurity/ Information Assurance Manager for programs in the Information Assurance discipline for the Phillips Research Site.
Duties
Ensures the Cybersecurity organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the branch and integrated into the branch's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products and services to ensure a proper workload balance and training of employees.
Oversees, manages, executes PRS' COMPUSEC, COMSEC, EMSEC, and all programs that comprise the Information Assurance discipline as RVIC Branch Chief.
Oversees the analysis, recommendation, and implementation of internal controls of all matters related to Cybersecurity, as directed by DoD, Air Force, AFMC, AFRL and base/local policies.
Serves as the Information Assurance Manager for PRS, providing computer systems security policy and management.
Exercises full authority in assigning work to employees, establishing performance standards, evaluating performance, assigning performance ratings, and providing effective feedback for employees.

- Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of the position must achieve and maintain IAM Level II certification within six months of assignment of these duties.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A).
To qualify for this position, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. AND
At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade, DO-1/GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include communicating Cybersecurity strategic plans, missions, visions and values to organizations and integrating these into branch operations; manage team effectiveness, oversee programs that comprise the Information Assurance discipline; provide computer systems security policy and management.
