This position is located at Sacred Oaks Healing Center, Youth Regional Treatment Center (YRTC) in Davis, CA. The YRTCs provide residential substance abuse and alcohol treatment to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native youth and help California tribal youth find healthy directions in life. This position provides administrative support assistance for all facility programs, as well as receptionist duties for the facility. The incumbent will report to the Deputy Health System Administrator.
Duties
Serves as primary receptionist to facility receiving visitors and taking phone calls.
Secures the front office by monitoring, assisting, and directing visitors to appropriate officials through utilizing the electronic and manual access control system and checking in/out the visitors at the front desk.
Retrieves and routes incoming mail.
Drafts responses to routine requests for more information.
Ensures that completed documents are procedurally and grammatically correct and complete.
Assists in arranging travel and accommodations for staff and their travel needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: perform clerical work such as, preparing and editing correspondence, memos, letters, and reports in a software program; proofread/edit documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format; maintain electronic office records, such as calendars, directories, spreadsheets, and databases; prepare training/travel arrangements or authorizations in an electronic system.
OR
4 years above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
Proficiency Requirement:
Office Automation Clerk/ Assistant - 40 words per minute typing speed. (Words per minute are based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.)
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
