Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Pharmacist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the pharmaceutical industry to optimize business results and customer experience by: Overseeing civilian Customer Service staff at SCMS ensuring all customer needs are addressed. Planning, directing, and overseeing the technical work of two or more subordinate employees in accomplishment of tasks, set and adjust short-term priorities and prepare schedules for completion of work. Serving as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), overseeing the work of contractors. Providing oversight of all Controlled Substance activities. Serving as a consultant to all staff members and customers in relation to technical pharmaceutical matters.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education(external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. OR A bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a substantial record of experience and achievement that demonstrates competence in the pharmacy field. Individuals who qualify based on this option will be subject to a comprehensive evaluation of both their education and experience prior to final appointment. AND License to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. AND In addition to meeting the basic requirements above you must meet the specialized experience below. Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service performing at least 3 of the following: 1. Advising on pharmaceutical regulatory and oversight policies and compliance (ex. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)). 2. Advising on proper procedures for the storage, handling, and distribution of pharmaceuticals. 3. Providing customer service including communication, account management, and resolving issues. 4. Overseeing the work of subordinates. In addition to meeting the basic requirements and specialized experience above, you must meet the following medical requirement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
