This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Program Support Center, Supply Chain Management Services (SCMS), located in Perry Point, Maryland.

Duties

As a Supervisory Pharmacist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Program Support Center to optimize business results and customer experience by: Finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, or improve business practices. As a permanent, civilian staff Pharmacist, serves as a consultant to all staff members and customers in relation to technical pharmaceutical matters. Acts as Vault Custodian, providing oversight of all Controlled Substance activities. Exercising Supervisory and Managerial Authorities for contractors and technical personnel within Customer Service Branch. Serves as the liaison between the SCMS and other Federal Agencies to improve, modify or provide higher quality material or additional items to optimize quality of services, including formulary development.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements, Licensure AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Basic Education Requirement: You must meet the items listed below: You must have a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Must submit transcript) OR A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a substantial record of experience and achievement that demonstrates competence in the pharmacy field. Individuals who qualify based on this option will be subject to a comprehensive evaluation of both their education and experience prior to final appointment. AND Licensure: You must meet the items listed below: You must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Applicants also must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (Must submit copy of pharmacy license) AND Basic Education Requirement: You must meet the items listed below: You must be able to distinguish basic colors. AND Specialized Experience:GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Providing expert knowledge of or complying with pharmaceutical regulatory and oversight policies (ex. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)) Handling procedures for the storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals Providing customer service including communication, account management, and or resolving issues Advising, prioritizing assignments and reviewing work for subordinates Documenting Experience:IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
