About the Position: The Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) is headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland with activities located at Fort Belvoir, Fort Hood, Fort Huachuca, and Logistics Assistance Representatives stationed in eight countries.
Duties
POSITION WILL BE FILLED TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED 180 DAYS, MAY NOT BE EXTENDED OR MADE PERMANENT.
Responsibilities:
This position serves as a Directorate Support Branch Chief within the SAMD.
Responsible for management, coordination, planning and execution of directorate operations and resources in support of the command Security Assistance (SA) programs to include Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and/or Building Partner Capacity Programs to support the National Defense Policy and support to Combatant Commanders in programs such as counter-narcotics.
Receives general supervision from the Director, Security Assistance Management Directorate who provides broad program and policy guidance and enunciates objectives.
Provides full range of supervisory duties and administrative support.
Directs and controls activities of professional and technical personnel and exercises supervisory personnel over the subordinate offices.
Ensures the SA Operations and Resources are aligned with mission goals.
Delegates responsibility and authority to key personnel, and ensures that Director's programs are executed within budget and are on schedule.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the, assignment and the capabilities of subordinates.
Evaluates completed work
Supervises and lead others.
Leadership ability, including the ability to coach, mentor and challenge subordinates; ability to adapt leadership style to a variety of situations.
Provides guidance and direction through subordinates supervisors to a group of specialists.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Advanced Level in Acquisition Career Field Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring a Secret security clearance or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). The incumbent must sign and execute, as a conditions of employment, a 3-year written tenure agreement.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for Security Cooperation Workforce Certification (SCW) Advanced Level within 60 months of entrance on duty.
Qualifications
This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-04 broadband with established control points. The control point for this position is GS-14 STEP 1 THROUGH GS-15 Step 6. This supervisory position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-15, step 06 base salary, or if the incumbent's salary current exceeds the GS-15, step 06 level the incumbent's salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbents existing salary. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

To qualify for this position, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-03 or GS-13) or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes: 1) Coordinating the command Security Assistance (SA) programs to include management, planning, and execution of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and/or Building Partner Capacity Programs; 2) Ensuring that director's programs are executed within budget and are on schedule; 3) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates to include managing priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work; and 4) Providing organizational administrative support to include preparing employment actions, completing time and attendance and travel orders, developing Command Briefings and/or papers, and serving as a representative on external working groups and IPTs.
