About the position: This position will be assigned to the This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center at Fort Richardson, AK.
This is a seasonal position Not To Exceed 01-OCT-2024.
This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.
Duties
Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Arts and Crafts. Operates a variety of equipment in assigned area, to include
computerized engravers, copiers, lettering machines, heat presses, laminators, saws, kilns, mat cutters, choppers and hand power
tools. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change and issues receipts. At the end of each shift? closes
out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor. Assists customers in placing orders.
Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Provides customer service, answers telephone and assists shop
users with craft skill development and work procedures. With guidance from the supervisor, provides demonstrations and guidance
on crafts in a class environment. Creates a calendar of classes to be taught through the year. Assists Director in submitting JBERLife!
marketing tickets. Maintains clean, neat and safe work area. Performs other related duties and assists facility supervisor as requested.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Experience in program development in an Arts & Crafts environment is desired. A working knowledge of classes typically taught in
an Arts & Crafts center, i.e. pottery, fabric crafts, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, painting, engraving, framing and/or glass crafts is
required. Must be able to read, write, spell and figure basic math and measurements. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to
deal with the public. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends. Requires continuous standing, walking, and
stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns, and bruises. May work uncommon work schedule,
including weekends. Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily
complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation.
