About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Services Facility at Wright-Patterson, AFB.
Supervises all bartenders and bar assistants to include selecting, establishing work schedules, assigning work, approving/disapproving leave request; maintaining discipline; preparing performance evaluations and award recommendations. Position includes paid holidays, leave accrual, optional Group Health/ Dental, Life Insurance plans, Retirement, 401K and Flexible Benefits plans.
Duties
Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of all bars part of Club system. Supervises all bartenders and bar assistants to include selecting, establishing work schedules, assigning work, approving/disapproving leave request; maintaining discipline; preparing performance evaluations and award recommendations. Determines proper staffing level and makes recommendations to establish/abolish positions as needed. Monitors employee performance to ensure customer service standards are established and adhered to. Develops budget plan estimates and justification within prescribe timeframe. Recommends improvements in policies, procedures and practices that are consistent with legal and regulatory requirements and meets the needs of the organization. Coordinates with the Club Manager to determine which products to carry and sets prices for those products. Evaluates sales to determine which products are successful and which need to be replaced.
Establishes budget for bar operations and recommends pricing changes to Club Manager when necessary. Establishes an efficient inventory system to evaluate security of products and to help determine when to reorder. Coordinates with Catering and Club Managers to determine need for full service and/or portable bars for special functions. Works with the marketing department to advertise special events and promote daily business. Ensures all bars are cleaned properly to include floors, tables and counter tops. Ensures trash is emptied and glassware is properly cleaned. Resolves customer and employee complaints. As a working Manager incumbent will be required to mix/pour a variety of cocktails by recipe as well as pouring beer, serving wine and taking payment from guests. As an occasional closing Manager incumbent will be required to close down the facility at the end of the days business, ensuring the facility is free of trash, all patrons have evacuated and all entrances are secured. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience that provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices. Experience may have been gained in operation, administrative or supervisory/managerial position in a bar or similar establishment. The experience must include responsibility or supervision over the bar operations. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to communicate effective orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May be required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
