About the position: This position will be assigned to the Offutt Event Center on Offutt AFB.
Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the economic and efficient management of Offutt Event Center, and Base Lake Event Center. Responsible for planning, directing, and organizing business resources to successfully operate and support the installation quality of life events. Plan and execute profit generating events. Oversee event scheduling using appropriate resources, (i.e., RecTrac). Increase and oversee the catering offerings for all event areas. Plan and oversee food and beverage service to include planning special events in the bar, party rooms, mobile bars, and regular bar operation. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates catering menu planning, food service, purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Estimate food and beverage costs and ensure costs are maintained within established parameters. Purchase and maintain supplies, equipment, food, and beverages at a level that meets current business trends while minimizing waste. Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the event center. Analyzes program's financial information, maintains records, tracks trends, identifies problem areas and submits recommendation to the supervisor for coordination. Generate and execute budgets for food and beverage and bar operations for Offutt Event Center, Raiders Lounge, and Base Lake event center. Implements directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational and entertainment/promotional programs. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training. Keep all team members current on ongoing/upcoming events, programs, business trends and safety issues, and assists in any area needed to maintain a smoothly flowing facility. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, minor and major construction. Oversee Community Center personnel. Ensures proper military and civilian protocol is practiced. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided knowledge of management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more of the functions managed by an event center manager. Requires management experience in food, beverage, and hospitality programs, food and beverage purchasing, food and beverage distribution, and knowledge of sound and up-to-date research and development, business principles and practices, financial management, procurement, and other administrative requirements. Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures to prepare, monitor variances, and revise budget. Desired knowledge of Aloha computer system and RecTrac. Desirable experience includes an extensive customer contact, tracking of customer orders and complaints, and preparing detailed reports. Experience in civilian food and beverage purchasing methodology is desirable. A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination of hospitality, restaurant or event center management, or business management is highly desirable. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation is required. This is a Drug Tested Designated Position. Subject to an irregular tour of duty to include evenings, weekends, and Holidays. Must be able to obtain a Child National Agency Check with Inquiries satisfactorily. (T1+Childcare). Must have and be able to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
