About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.
Duties
Develop installation planning documents, project concepts, and preliminary design documents for Master Plan.
Conduct surveys for activities at various locations.
Develop logistics projects for the depot.
Identify project requirements for space utilization and budget estimates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 25%.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) maintaining installation planning documents; 2) Compiling data to determine scope of the project; and 3) Researching studies for facilities, equipment and work processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Management, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Managing logistics projects for the organization; 2) Conducting cost benefit analysis to justify project priorities; and 3) Monitoring budgeting activities for logistics projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Education
