About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Madigan annex. Full time. Monday through Friday 0730-1600. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. Duties
The incumbent provides administrative oversight and management support to the Division Chief Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), Consolidated Education Division (MCED).
Implement division strategic plans and ensures consistency with MAMC goals, and compliance with external accrediting and auditing agencies.
Conduct management studies, including cost effectiveness, organizational structure, and equipment utilization .
Perform analysis, including reviewing, editing, and consolidating budget submission.
Prepare a variety of monthly reports covering status of funds, expenses and obligations.
Direct/supervise assigned personnel .
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation (NACI) (TIER 1).
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 05% of the time.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and/or Experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing administrative support to management and conducting studies in one or more of the following areas: budget, equipment utilization, personnel, or resource management as it relates to organizational efficiency and support of financial data; utilizing various electronic databases and electronic such as healthcare systems to analyze data and recommand procedural modifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as:hospital administration, public health administration, Human Resources or related fields such as business or Public Administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
