You will serve as a Material Expediter Work Leader (Forklift Operator) in the Supply & Logistics Department, Project Support Division (Code 530) of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan, schedule, expedite and coordinate the receipt and issue of all materials to warehouse areas. You will ensure employees are performing in compliance with the rules, regulations, instructions and policies regarding nuclear and non-nuclear material. You will provide overall guidance and direction for and during material handling movement to ensure material is properly packaged, and secured to the pallet and forklift to prevent damage. You will assist the supervisor in the management and service of the assigned material handling equipment to ensure certification dates do not expire and equipment is available. You will perform a variety of tasks involved with the assessment of all nuclear, hazmat, and non-nuclear related material received to ensure the material is acceptable for end use, which includes ensuring the receipt inspection has been performed. You will accurately and in a timely manner, process documentation and updates in the appropriate database with receipt, stow, and issue information. You will operate a wide variety of material handling equipment not limited to pallet jacks, forklifts, light trucks to transport material and instructs and oversees lower graded material handling equipment operators.

Requirements

  • This position requires rotating shift work.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/carry 60 pounds.
  • This position may require temporary duty at locations other than the permanent duty station which may include travel by military or commercial aircraft/flights.
  • You will be required to complete and maintain training needed for material handling, such as Level I Material Training, HM03 Planner Hazmat Training, and NN-N3001 Nuclear Worker Qualification training.
