You will serve as a MATERIALS EXPEDITER in Shop 31, in the Production Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will route, control, and expedite movement of priority items, keeping the supervisors and managers informed of the material status.
You will provide supply support to all production shops and codes in matters pertaining to material control, expediting, staging, and handling of nuclear material.
You will expedite the movement of priority nuclear items and follow up on overdue material.
You will examine items received to verify part numbers, stock numbers, and other data pertaining to the identification of the item to a specific project.
You will ensure all previous processing has been completed by observing markings and checking routing documentation for inspection sign-offs.
You will take action to locate missing items by backtracking through the material management system and other sources if quantity of item is incorrect.
You will prepare nuclear material for transportation by using correct material handling methods and equipment to ensure the items are routed to the final destination accurately and without damage.
You will operate a variety of material handling equipment and trucks to support material pick-ups from off-station and private contractors.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You may be required to be nuclear qualified.
- You must be able to lift or carry 60 lbs. and occasionally over 60 lbs.
Qualifications
