What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) and will lead, direct, and implement cyber assessments for FEMA. Typical assignments include: - Creating dashboards and reports detailing cybersecurity risk and leading presentations and meetings. - Reviewing security authorization packages. - Creating and reviewing security assessment plans, and security assessment reports and overseeing assessment teams. - Creating and reviewing scan authorizations, and rules of engagements. - Conducting penetration tests and creating and reviewing penetration testing reports. - Creating and reviewing SOPs to document the assessment processes. - Conducting vulnerability scans, identifying false positives. - Reporting on the status of vulnerabilities to agency stakeholders. - Working with system stakeholders to patch vulnerabilities.



The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Conducting and leading teams in vulnerability scans efforts including infrastructures, applications, web applications, databases, or source code; and Facilitating penetration tests against infrastructures and applications; and Applying Security Control Assessments, creating Security Assessment Plans, and Security Assessment Reports In addition to the above specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
