You will serve as an ADMINSTRATIVE OFFICER within the Office of the Judge Advocate General (OJAG). This is a local remote position to be filled at any of the listed duty stations.
This is a Term appointment which may be extended up to 8 years and noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
Duties
You will serve as a principal assistant in the Department of the Navy (Don) Disability Evaluation System Counsel Program (DESCP).
You will monitor and ensure DoN DESCP compliance with various Department of Defense (DoD) and DoN guidelines and requirements in several administrative programs.
You will administer and oversee multiple Echelon 2 level military and/or civilian programs and provide subject matter expertise to program leads.
You will assist with gathering the input required to update and maintain all administrative program requirements.
You will serve as the DESCP lead coordinator/manager for assigned programs.
You will be responsible for managing the mail program across the DoN DESCP.
You will serve as Records Manager/Division Liaison responsible for insuring record keeping creation, retention and archiving of DESCP Privacy Act compliance and permanent records, including origination through retention requirements,
You will serve as DESCP Security Manager supporting security requirements associated with DESCP operations.

- This position is a fully remote approved position. This position may require you to report in person for an established amount of days per pay period if you reside within one the listed commuting areas.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public using knowledge and understanding of management principles, practices, methods and techniques, and skill in integrating management services with the general management of an organization and performing the following:
1)Overseeing or administering administrative operations that ensure compliance with established guidelines and requirements.
2) Providing administrative oversight and /or support to one or more of personnel/management programs.
3) Advising management on maintaining sound organization structures and improving management methods and procedures.
4) Preparing, formatting, and developing briefs, project papers, status/staff reports, and correspondence.
5) Managing resources, budgets, records, and personnel in support of department operations.
6) Operating personal computers and software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite Products and standard commercial spreadsheet, database, presentation, and desktop publishing software including Microsoft EXCEL, Word, Access, and Power-Point to prepare various documents and reports.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OT
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
