About the Position: This Equal Employment Manager position is assigned to the US Army Acquisition Support Center, Office of the Director, located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Serves as a Equal Employment Manager for USAASC / DRU.
Participates in command briefings, orientation sessions, and responds to requests for guidance and technical assistance on command EEO matters.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure a comprehensive EEO Program is implemented and advises managers and their staff at all levels on the effectiveness of the program.
Reviews EEO related performance standards of all supervisors and managers and advises pay pools on EEO requirements.
Provides technical advice and assistance throughout the US Army Acquisition Support Center/Direct Reporting Unit (USAASC/DRU) on the administration, implementation, and oversight of the EEO program.
Evaluates the command’s EEO program and progress and makes recommendations for improvements in plans of action.
Reports recommendations for program or policy changes to the USAASC/DRU /Chief of Staff.
Administers the EEO complaints processing system in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Plans, organizes, and oversees EEO program activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

- Business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as: 1) Provides technical advice and assistance throughout organization on administration, implementation, and oversight of the EEO program; 2) Processes EEO Complaints per the 29 CFR 1614 and EEOC MD-110 regulations to provide the proper handling of sensitive and complex EEO complaints.; 3) Analyzes and identifies problem areas to resolve all EEO issues; and, 4) Makes technical recommendations concerning cases that establish criteria for deciding future cases for the command. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
