Duties
This position is located under the Intake and Investigations Branch (IIB), Personnel Security Division (PSD), Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations (OPRSO) in Washington, District of Columbia.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience includes:
GS-12 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private section experience, performing the following duties:
Provides technical advice and guidance to employees, contractors, and/or volunteers regarding pre-employment security processing; and
Reviews background investigation paperwork for completeness, errors, and derogatory information; and
Completes day-to-day operational activities to support the security program; and
Assists with implementing operational policies, procedures, programs, and standards as required.
GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties:
Reviews, coordinates and monitors implementation of policies governing the agency's Personnel Security Program; and
Provides guidance to team members who review personnel security packages for completeness, make initial reciprocity determinations, and document findings relating to non-compliance; and
Assists developing training and/or training materials for the contract investigators and/or administrative personnel.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
