About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Information Technology Directorate, Services Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Analyzes requirements and options for project data architecture, data engineering, database development and database administration. Using modern software and data engineering techniques, designs and implements new application software and/or data pipelines. Executes modern application development practices to implement work using Agile Practices in an DevSecOps environment using GITLAB. Documents application development and delivery. Enables automated deployments using infrastructure as code. Follows Cybersecurity best practices for application development. Tests and debugs applications to achieve optimum operation in production environment. Continually monitors performance of systems for assigned functional area. Serves as the Center's technical expert for data-related information technology activities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
