As a Supervisory Transportation Management Specialist in the Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Western Command (AOWC), you are responsible for managing the movement, distribution, and safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons, components, and materials from points of manufacture, storage, or use, to authorized destinations within the U.S. nuclear weapons complex via ground and/or air transportation services.

Qualifications

This is a secondary position requiring prior Nuclear Materials Courier experience that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the Transportation Safeguards System (TSS). A qualified candidate must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band, i.e., NN-02 or NQ-02. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the OST mission to effectively analyze and resolve critical transportation problems and provide agency and/or interagency advice through policy guidance on OST transportation activities. Examples of Specialized Experience: Experience supervising and directing Transportation Safeguards System (TSS) operations. Experience managing large groups of employees and directing TSS operations. Experience developing, implementing, and managing policy related to transportation program activities. Directing, initiating, and implementing operational and training programs relative to the TSS. Experience providing guidance and solutions related to transportation program issues. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
