This position is part of the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Secure Transportation, Office of Mission Operations, Operations Division, Operational Readiness Branch. A successful candidate in this position will serve as the Operations Division Director, providing technically authoritative guidance and advice in implementing a major segment of a national transportation program within the Office of Secure Transportation.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: A qualified candidate should demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the OST mission to develop and implement policy, effectively analyze, and resolve critical transportation problems, and provide agency and/or interagency coordination involving OST transportation activities. This is a secondary position which must include experience as a Nuclear Materials Courier that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the Transportation Safeguards System (TSS).
Examples of Specialized Experience:
1. Experience supervising and directing Transportation Safeguards System (TSS) operations.
2. Experience managing large groups of employees and directing TSS operations.
3. Experience developing, implementing, and managing policy related to transportation program activities.
4. Directing, initiating, and implementing operational and training programs relative to the TSS.
5. Experience providing guidance and solutions related to transportation program issues.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
There is no education requirement for this position and education cannot be substituted for experience. For the NQ-04, you must have one year of specialized experience which is equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade in the federal system, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14 grade level.
