Duties

As a Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Performs analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of programs and/or efficiency of the management of operations. Identifies procedural problems in program operations, using quantitative or qualitative methods. Conducts studies on operating programs, analyzes findings and makes recommendations in reports. Counsels and advises program managers on methods, procedures, management surveys, management reports, and control techniques. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Program Analyst GS-0343-11/12, GS-12 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting studies of work processes and procedures, making tentative recommendations for problem resolution; and Reviewing reports and studies to ensure that appropriate rules and regulations are utilized; and Assisting in the development of reports and/or procedures to supplement established program guidance -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
