The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
Duties
The function of the Deposit Copies Storage Unit is to receive, store, and retrieve items submitted to the Copyright Office in connection with applications to register copyright claims. Stored items number in the millions, and are in many different forms and formats. They are kept for many decades and must be readily accessible for retrieval. Storage is maintained in a secure environment. The Unit is housed in a warehouse facility located apart from the Library of Congress/Copyright Office campus.
Qualifications
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.
Knowledge of warehousing methods, procedures and techniques.**
Ability to receive, locate, store, ship, load, unload, and package materials.**
Ability to operate material moving equipment and vehicles.**
Ability to interpret and apply a variety of guidelines and/or regulations.
Ability to utilize computer technology and software applications.
Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
