The primary purpose of this position is to plan, supervise, and direct the activities of a Branch level organization within the Inspector General Office, at a major command (MAJCOM).
Duties
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts surveys, interviews, continual evaluation, and remote/on-site inspections under the Air Force Inspection System (AFIS) construct.
Establishes metrics and analysis systems for management of programs and personnel.
Leads and participates in meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to AFIS planning, programming, and execution.
Provides development oversight of inspection risk-based samplings strategies.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience managing a wide range of complex inspection, investigation, enforcement, and/or compliance principles, concepts, and practices, as well as applying a knowledge of Public Laws, Executive Orders, Regulations, Instructions, administrative and legal procedures, and other decisions/standards related to agency activities and Inspector General (IG) programs sufficient to conduct interviews, inspections, and investigations to analyze the nature of a complaint and specific issues to be addressed; applying a knowledge of IG functions, operations, policies, procedures, and practices; determining the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; and awareness of the relationship of various installation entities involved in overall program planning and execution of IG operations and evaluations.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of laws, regulations, instructions, and issues related to the IG inspection and information management system processes, principles, and procedures.
Highly skilled in interpersonal relations at multiple Command levels.
Skill in planning, scheduling and conducting analyses and inspection interviews.
Ability to research, interpret, analyze and apply regulations, policies, and directives supporting the Air Force Inspections System IAW DAFI 90-302.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with many diverse groups of people at various IG and/or command levels.
Knowledge and ability to use automated work tools to input, evaluate, and analyze inspection-related information.
Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
