Duties
In this position you will serve as the Deputy Executive Director assisting senior leadership by planning, evaluating, integrating and coordinating initiatives within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT). This position starts at a salary of $163,964.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $191,900.00 (GS-15, Step 10) with promotion potential to $191,900 (GS-15 Step 10).

Major duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Evaluating overall work accomplishment of the combined staff, reviews projects, reports, group, and individual performance for consistency with policies, compliance with procedures and regulations, utility, technical adequacy, timeliness, and effective utilization of resources.
Directing development of corrective or preventive measures to obtain desired results; and assures that new technical and managerial plans and programs are coordinated within the chain of command.
Assisting with the establishments overall Program Office managerial and administrative objectives, develops long-range plans and identifies required resources to promote an efficient, economical and progressive organization.
Advising senior leadership on relevant OIT matters (e.g. plans, initiatives, issues, futures, and policies).
Managing and directing all operations and facilities related to programs, policies, and new and continuing initiatives of Office of Information and Technology, Targeting and Analysis Systems Program Directorate.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Ensuring the senior leadership is continually prepared with necessary preparation facts and information for decisions that are required.
Serving as a first line supervisor, leading subordinates concerning technical, professional, administrative, or comparable work.
Managing employee performance by recommending recognition and resolving issues.
Coordinating major projects, provides input for plans that improve the program directorate.

You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 03/29/2024.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
