Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Enterprise Services, Office of Information and Technology.

Duties

As Executive Director, Software Development (Passenger Systems), in the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, definition, development, implementation, and integration of a supportable set of systems and capabilities to enable U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to achieve its strategic goals and objectives. You will ensure that the capabilities meet legal, procedural, and security requirements. You will oversee the Passenger Systems Program Directorate, which provides application development and continued operational support of the many passenger and immigration management systems hosted by CBP. You will work to deliver and sustain technology solutions that ensure the safety and security of travelers entering and exiting the United States, while facilitating legitimate travel. You will also work to provide stakeholders within CBP, the Department of Homeland Security, and outside enforcement agencies, with the data they need, when they need it, to support and accomplish the important mission of protecting travelers, trade, and the homeland. You will also manage the contracting process, including evaluation of the need for new contracts, leveraging of existing OIT contracts, support for the acquisition process, and management of contracts after award.

Expert knowledge of and experience overseeing the administrative and operational support functions of a large, complex agency or organization, to include experience overseeing process and performance improvements.
