This position is located in the Chief Information Office, Science and Technology Directorate (S& T), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for a wide range of computer programming, analysis, network, and/or equipment assignments.
Duties
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Developing and documenting requirements to provide secure and effective state-of-the art communications and IT systems that employ best engineering practices and satisfy organizational security standards.
Coordinating and ensuring that all Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support services, which support desktop, LAN and WAN environments, are provisioned on a recurring and consistent basis across the S&T user community.
Managing the implementation of mid- and long-range projects across hardware, network and software systems, which expand and enhance the IT environment for the S&T organization.
Discharging security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to
classified or sensitive material.
Documenting user requirements: researching applicable tools, presenting options and pursuing technology that benefits the entire organization.

Requirements

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Assessing IT program governance policy needs and developing policies, products, and services, which lead to improved IT program and project delivery and performance.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
