You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the SOUTWEST REGION TRANSPORTATION, MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will perform equipment inspections, system diagnostics, and malfunction troubleshooting procedures to identify the proper adjustment and repair tasks to return the equipment to a safe and acceptable operational status.
You will perform scheduled preventative maintenance checks and services in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance, the supervisor's instructions, and acceptable trade practices.
You will assist in the performance of complete corrective repair of equipment systems and subsystems to make the equipment safe and an acceptable operating condition.
You will maintain equipment such as rescue apparatus, boom, tank and pumper, street sweeper, vacuum and refuel trucks, airfield support equipment, and other equipment that may have been modified and/or equipped to perform specialized functions.
You will will be aware of and confirm to safety standards, environmental compliance regulations , organizational standard operating procedures , shop operating procedures , and typical industry practices.

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or non-sensitive security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position requires a range of vision, corrected or non-corrected and the ability to perceive depth and colors.
- You will be required to perform repeated lifting up to 45 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
Qualifications

I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
