Duties
Serve as a Team Lead conducting complex series of duties in connection with toxic agent monitoring, testing, operation, and maintenance of equipment to produce, handle, and detoxify chemical and biological agents and agent related components.
Lead and monitor project group to execute procedures and report completed status.
Communicate and train personnel to support organization mission safely.
Coordinate receipt and inventory of the Branch assets while following guidelines of approved Organization property management.
Formulate and present findings, briefings, papers, and status reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- Performs duties that require the individual to obtain and hold Biological and/or Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP/CPRP) enrollment pursuant to the requirements of the Army Biological/Chemical Surety Program.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be up to 50%.
- Employee is subject to travel on short notice (i.e., less than 24 hours notice).
- The incumbent must observe all State/Federal regulations relating to hazardous waste management.
- The incumbent must follow all safety regulations and use proper protective gear or equipment.
- Work is often performed outdoors, exposing the incumbent to all types of weather conditions.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Pre-employment and random drug testing is required.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning day-to-day tasks associated with the recovery, handing and detoxification of chemical and biological agents/items; 2) Communicating with and coaching lower level personnel to support the organization's mission safely; 3) Producing and analyzing output from instrumentation and detectors to determine equipment readiness and recommend corrective actions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-11).
