About the Position: Incumbent will serve as an Engineering Technician for Pine Bluff Arsenal.
Duties
Studies work requests to determine if sufficient information has been provided to initiate a reliable plan and estimate.
Develops a detailed scope of work for projects to be accomplished by BOA.
Prepare specifications, scope of work, estimates, and asbestos handling permits for all Arsenal force abatement work.
Makes field visits to visually inspect items, site, structure, equipment or production lines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

To qualify for the GS-09
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) studying work requests to determine if sufficient information has been provided to initiate a reliable plan and estimate; 2) Developing data to be used for reference purposes or as a basis for computing estimates on future work requests covering work of a recurrent and repetitive nature; and 3) Making field visits to visually inspect items, site, structure, equipment or production lines.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
