Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing leadership, oversight or serving as a technical advisor for extramural management operations; providing guidance on extramural management policies, practices, and procedures; coaching, mentoring or leading others; establishing and/or monitoring performance measures to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of a team.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Skill in applying the concepts, principles, and practices of extramural functional activities; 2) Skill in program management; 3) Skill in written communication sufficient to draft senior level correspondence (e.g. policies); 4) Ability to coach, lead, motivate, and appraise staff; 5) Skill in performing personnel management duties; 6) Skill in oral communication; 7) Skill in quantitative and qualitative analyses; 8) Ability to plan, monitor, evaluate and collaborate on a range of functional/program related activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
