Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Development or a related educational field appropriate to the work of position or an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, or three yearsof practical experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, techniques and professional early childhood education, concepts, principles and theories, as would be gained through broad experience in planning and conducting child development programs. Knowledge of military Children, Youth and Teens programs or military family programs is preferred.   Knowledge of administrative support functions. Knowledge of general office automation software, practices and procedures in order to accomplish various work assignments.  Ability to maintain a computerized database.  Working knowledge of Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) or equivalent database. Ability to maintain accurate reports and recodes and military formatted documents.  Ability to compose written materials clearly, concisely, and effectively. Ability to communicate sensitively and responsibly to the needs and concerns of all patrons.
