Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must have one of the following:
1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level defined as assisting in the research of civil rights related legal or policy matters; and preparing correspondence or communications;
master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position
equivalent combination of education and experience
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following:
1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level defined as researching civil rights related legal or policy matters; and preparing or responding to professional correspondence or FOIA requests;
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related; the education must provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of civil rights and environmental civil rights policies; 2) Ability to manage, coordinate, and organize the case files of the office; 3) Skill in document collection and evaluation; 4) Ability to identify resources required for the processing and collection of information related to case investigations; 5) Skill in records management; 6) Skill in written communication; 7) Skill in professional correspondence; 8) Skill in document analysis.
