You will serve as a GENERAL INVESTIGATOR in the NAVAL INSPECTOR GENERAL (NAVINSGEN) of OFFNAVINSGEN WASHINGTON DC.

Duties

You will maintain a system for receipt and accountability of information regarding alleged misconduct and/or reprisal by senior officials. You will conduct interviews of subjects, witnesses, and complainants. You will produce professionally competent written reports of investigation. You will review and evaluate reports of investigation prepares analytical summary oversight reports concerning MWBR senior official cases. You will initiate and maintain data entry and subsequent case information.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning, conducting directing and managing sensitive and complex investigations involving Navy officials. Experience with screening, processing, and investigating MWBR allegations and complaints. Experience with federal laws (Title 5,10, and 18), rules of evidence with regulations and policies. Knowledge of functions of media relations and the legislative complaint process. Experience with Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts.
