This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform developmental activities to assist with planning, designing, adapting, developing, acquiring, documenting, testing, implementing, integrating, strategies and executing human capital actions to fulfill training requirements supporting the OCRSO mission and to the scope set forth by management.

Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst, GS-0343-7, your typical work assignments may include:
Assists headquarters and field offices with planning and conducting studies and activity functions.
Assists in evaluating the content of new or modified legislation for projected impact on agency programs.
Provides technical assistance, support to headquarters and field management staff related to the mission requirements.
Providing analytical support on problem definitions, planning, methodologies, policies, and procedures.
Assists in evaluating the content of new or modified legislation for projected impact on agency programs.
Review submissions, authorizations, conformance with instructions, amendments, maintenance, and control of final planning.
Assists in the design, implementation of planning, controls for submission of data, budget, program resource requests and recommendations.
Identify effects on new or proposed legislations, executive orders, the Department of Homeland Security directives, and decisions on operations, managerial programs, and requirements.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience GS-7:
You qualify for the GS-7 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Extracting, reconciling data reports and results, analyze source data, and entering data into system.
Develop briefings, presentations, and executive correspondence for leadership.
Assist with the development and evaluation of policies in assigned program areas to achieve organizational objectives and improvements.
You qualify at the GS-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:
One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement master's or equivalent graduate degree.
One full year of graduate level education at an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; OR
A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application; OR
A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership:
Class standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
Grade-point average (GPA.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society -- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.
