About the Position: Responsible for all manner and aspects of security for a facility located on Fort Belvoir, Virginia with emphasis on and not limited to, access control, camera monitoring, security systems, key control and classified processing areas throughout the facility. Plans, develops, and implements all programs designed to safeguard classified national security information, Army property, and Army personnel.
Duties
Grant limited access to classified information processing locations within the facility.
Check the vulnerabilities of physical protection of personnel, equipment, vehicles and facilities against criminal, terrorist, or hostile activities.
Implement the physical security standard operating procedures for organization in facility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to call back to duty within 60 minutes once notified.
- Incumbent is subject to work various overtime hours, including weekends and holidays, with minimum notice as situations require and as directed by leadership.
- Incumbent will be required to achieve Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of encumbering position.
- Pre-employment physical required.
- Secret clearance is required for this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes work that involves implementing and maintaining security programs; conduct inspections of security programs, facilities, and operations; evaluate work to protect and safeguard classified and/or sensitive information; and ensure compliance with security policies and guidelines. Provide input on the layout of restricted or controlled areas and entry systems and recommends procedures for the movement and handling of sensitive material. Interpret policy originating from higher organizational levels and develop local interpretations and guidance to management officials and for resolving issues involving conflicting security requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
