This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), State and Population Health Group (SPHG) .
As a Senior Advisor, GS-0301-14, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and expertise on payment and operational policy related to model work.
Duties
Analyze internal policies, processes, and procedures to ensure increased operational efficiency.
Review operational policy areas by developing assignments, establishing priorities, timetables, and guides, and reviewing completed staff assignments as needed.
Recommends solutions to critical program management problems affecting policy and operational effectiveness.
Report orally or prepares written reports of findings, actions taken, or recommendations for the Director's attention.
Participate in and substantially contributes to top-level discussions and planning sessions on management program policy development.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Providing technical guidance or analysis on payment models or health care delivery approaches; AND 2) Planning or directing the completion of healthcare related projects or assignments that impact states, providers, and/or population health initiatives; AND 3) Preparing briefing documents, issue papers, or reports for use by management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
