You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN) at COMMANDER UNDERSEA SURVEILLANCE.
Duties
You will serve as a senior Information Technology Specialist and System Administrators (SA) of GENSER, TS/SCI Information Systems (IS) and Special Access Required (SAR) systems.
You will be responsible for all levels of Automated Information Systems (AIS) data/content and matters pertaining to the planning, development, integration, utilization, and/or modification of AIS systems, facilities, and procedures.
You will perform a wide variety of oversight and detailed tasks required to establish and maintain systems administration, cybersecurity, network development, and lifecycle management in support of IUSS mission requirements.
You will recommend and advise senior managers in matters relating to the strategic acquisition and enhancement of network equipment computers, communications systems.
You will develop and implement appropriate system administration policies and procedures as required by appropriate directives.
You will manage the diagnoses and resolution of system problems to maintain operational readiness and system availability for customer access.
You will manage the monitoring and implementation of mandatory cybersecurity configurations on servers to defend and protect against unauthorized intrusion and access.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code SYSADMIN, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Duties may require long periods of sitting, occasional periods of walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting of heavy boxes of publications/computer equipment; working hours of total concentration in analysis of management actions.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level II certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing systems administration oversight and maintenance by establishing criteria, analyzing requirements, and advising on automated information systems (AIS) administration, cybersecurity, network development, and lifecycle management to ensure the availability and functionality of systems and operational readiness. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
