You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will conduct oversight of management of inventory in warehouses, shop stores (to include truck stocks), and staging areas.
You will develop inventory plans for supervisor's approval.
You will assist supply branch staff in developing work methods, techniques and desk guides to improve the accuracy of inventory records.
You will ensure system of record is correctly accounting for inventory, identifies and assists in resolving discrepancies and improving system operation and efficiencies.
You will coordinate with Public Works Department staff and counterparts at the facilities engineering command on inventory accuracy issues, data calls, and reports.
You will support audit preparation, site visits, and post-audit processes.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Applying inventory management policies and procedures to maintain control and accountability of all material received, issued, stored, and disposed, while maintaining inventory record accuracy and auditability; 2) Using automated information systems, business logistics applications and software such as Microsoft Office suite, a supply management system, GSA systems and FedMall to retrieve, process, and analyze data and orders; 3) Communicating both orally and in writing to develop local supply and inventory management procedures and reports; 4) Complying with safety and hazardous material regulations, processes and procedures to ensure safe handling and to maintain a safe work environment. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
