Duties
You will develop, monitor, and analyze information technology (IT) systems security integration, testing, operations, and maintenance activities at the systems or network level to ensure compliance with systems security requirements.
You will ensure confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability of network and information systems architecture.
You will verify compliance with Federal, DoD, and US Navy programs, policies, regulatory requirements, and directives.
You will assist in the execution and management of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) 8510.01 and application of the NIST 800-53 rev 4/5 control policies.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area within 12 months of appointment
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For DS-03:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or DS-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) serving as a system administrator installing, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software;
2) providing technical and analytical guidance and support for system hardware and software; and
3) developing, modifying, and testing overall system backup and recovery strategies for assigned systems.
For DS-04:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) maintaining an organizations cybersecurity program that includes cybersecurity architecture, requirements, objectives and policies, cybersecurity personnel, and cybersecurity processes and procedures;
2) assisting in securing nationwide multi-level security information systems, working directly with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and other organizations to formulate new policies and procedures for risk analysis and risk management solutions;
3) monitoring information systems and user compliance with cybersecurity policy and reviewing the results of such monitoring, while also ensuring any cybersecurity inspections, tests, and reviews are synchronized and coordinated with affected parties and organizations; and
4) acting as a cybersecurity technical advisor for an organization and to the Authorizing Official (AO) for the systems under their purview.

Education
The following education may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience:
For DS-03:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, directly related to the position.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, directly related to the position.
For DS-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, directly related to the position.
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, directly related to the position.
