About the Position: Serves as resource management analyst responsible for assigned Army budget programs. Incumbent performs budget program planning, analysis, execution, and policy advisory functions for assigned programs throughout the command.
Duties
Advises management of problems, trends, unfavorable ratios, and deviations from normal situations which are disclosed by the analysis of resource management information.
Interprets budget policy, coordinates and plans budget services, management of resources, and forecast of budgetary trends and activities.
Provides technical expertise and guidance regarding the use of military accounting procedures and Army appropriations.
Makes preliminary analysis of the future year program for planning purposes.
Resolves budgeting problems pertaining to area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent is required to comply with Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program and must obtain required certification within required time.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) monitoring and/or controlling expenditures against budget/financial data; 2) analyzing/examining financial/budget data to analyze trends, plan budget services, forecast budgetary trends and activities; or identify cost-reduction opportunities; and 3) operating automated financial management systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
