As the Strategic Messaging and Engagement Lead for the Science Engagement and Partnerships Division, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an annual science engagement strategy that inspires and engages the general public. You will lead a team of specialists in developing and utilizing all mediums of outreach, building relationships and partnerships, and leveraging opportunities for engagement for maximum impact with the public and key stakeholders.
Duties
Serve as the Strategic Messaging and Engagement Lead for the Science Engagement and Partnerships Division (SEPD) within the Science Mission Directorate (SMD).
Manage the development of science engagement content (e.g., graphics, exhibits, and outreach material) presented at domestic and international stakeholder meetings, workshops, special events, and conferences.
Manage the development and implementation of a successful strategy to utilize the internet and social media to engage in and excite the public about NASA's science program, with emphasis on non-traditional audiences.
Manage the establishment of partnerships with both private sector, non-profit and government entities to leverage resources and maximize outreach to the public and non-traditional audiences.
Manage the development and implementation of SMD engagement activities, including collaboration on such activities with NASA and external partners.
Lead the development and implementation of a multi-million-dollar financial strategy that successful implements SMD's Strategic Messaging and Engagement Program within approved resources.
Continuously monitor and manage (evaluate, assess, validate, and report) the effectiveness and efficiency of SMD's strategic messaging and engagement activities to ensure success in reaching targeted audiences with positive impact.
Manage SMD's Strategic Messaging and Engagement Program, including maintaining effective working relationships with SMD and NASA senior leaders and other internal/external organizations.
Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Leading teams involved in public engagement and social media activities for a technical organization;
Managing or evaluating the performance of programs or organizations, and providing recommendations for improvement;
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on public engagement activities.
