You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL) in the Crane Engineering Branch within the Lifting and Handling Technical Division within the Lifting and Handling Department (Code 711) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
SALARY RANGES
GS-11: $75,640 - $98,330
GS-12: $90,662 - $117,856
Duties
You will serve as the technical expert on operation, maintenance, and repair of complex lifting and handling equipment systems
You will provide technical code support for lifting and handling equipment.
You will prepare written technical instructions to design, maintain, and/or repair lifting and handling equipment.
You will develop and/or reviews specifications, instructions, and other technical documents.
You will design alterations to modify, improve, or upgrade lifting and handling equipment.
You will identify, analyze, and develop solutions for complex problems that span across multiple equipment systems.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR THE GS12 LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and developing solutions to provide advisory or planning on projects and functions dealing with crane alterations, equipment maintenance, repair or testing operations related to the Shipyard's Lifting and Handling Program.
FOR THE GS11 LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing technical engineering principles and techniques to provide technical guidance for repair, replacement, maintenance or modification of electrical or electronic systems in support of crane alterations.
