As a Training Specialist (Training Coordinator), you will plan, develop, and implement TIGTA's employee development programs, processes, and systems including but not limited to the New Supervisor Training and on-line curriculum development. Provides a variety of technical, administrative, and operational support to ensure programs, policies, and procedures meet program goals and management needs are met on a timely basis.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Coordinates with function training contacts and Human Capital staff on the development of training processes, including standard operating procedures, curricula development, facilities, and equipment to ensure employees receive proper training opportunities.
Drafts and implements training procedures, instructions, and job aids to support TIGTA's training needs.
Interprets directives and develops local guidance to ensure compliance with TIGTA training requirements.
Develops mechanisms to validate course management documents.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the necessary skillset required to review, evaluate, and maintain training program materials in compliance with accreditation standards.
Examples of such experience could include:
Evaluate training programs to ensure materials and programs address the needs and mission of the organization; OR
Provides advice on program issues to officials of the organization; OR
Adapting current training materials to meet Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards; OR
Gathering information for the development of courses related to process improvements or procedures pertaining to accreditation (i.e. quarterly and annual reports).
OR
You may qualify on education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. As indicated in the Individual Occupational Requirements, the Graduate Education must include a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-9, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing in an administrative support role where you managed projects and researched problems/issues.
Examples of such experience could include:
Researching, updating and coordinating training material and handouts for target audience based on predetermined needs; OR
Participating in conducting training or facilitating training; OR
Experience with computer software applications to analyze data or generate reports.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Masters or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D. if related. As indicated in the Individual Occupational Requirements, the Graduate Education must include a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be used in combination with experience.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the
