Duties

Serves as a Fuel Representative responsible for surveying Garrison fuel tanks and dip tanks to determine current levels and convert readings to gallons and record levels on a spread sheet. Monitoring fuel delivery locations to assure a consistent supply of fuel without interruption. Inspects, in progress or upon completion, contractor operations, methods, techniques and materials to insure: Conformance with plans and specifications; that contractor is proceeding in accordance with approved schedules. Renders advice and suggestions to the contractor as per Contracting Officer’s Representative guidelines relative to alternative methods, techniques or equipment that might be used to expedite the work. Escort fuel Contractors to deliver fuel to tanks on APG North and APG South to ensure delivery to proper tank locations. Track fuel contractors for compliance of laws and regulation. Interprets and clarifies construction plans and specifications exercising considerable independent judgment in distinguishing between compliance and non-compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and safety requirements.

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience applying a knowledge of a diesel fuels, 2) experience surveying fuel tanks and 3) experience monitoring fuel delivery. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).
