Duties
You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Base Level Communications Planning Division (N51/N81), Plans, Programs and Requirements Department (N5/N8), at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic.
You will directly support the NCTAMS LANT Command Projects Manager and serve as the alternate command entry point for all POR and Third Party communications systems installations/upgrades.
You will apply sound technical and procedural skills and conduct critical reviews of every telecommunication system installation/upgrade package to ensure compliance with all SIPH/FRCB requirements.
You will support final command/regional communication systems installation/upgrade concurrence to the NAVIFOR FRCB directorate.
You will support the Command Projects Manager in the development and distribution of periodic command/regional telecommunication system installation/upgrade planning status reports.
You will support the retention and maintenance of all historical documentation supporting all command telecommunications systems installations/upgrades.
You will provide surveillance of the command configuration management instructions, collect user feedback, and periodically incorporate changes into the instruction to ensure it remains relevant and up to date.
You will help coordinate and participate in all scheduled and ad hoc command configuration management meetings, act as meeting recorder and ensure any/all suggested telecommunications system installation/upgrade projects changes are recorded.
You will report all Configuration Management matters directly to the Command Projects Manager for resolution.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience overseeing telecommunication system installations/upgrades.
-Experience drafting correspondence for review by leadership and incorporate changes received.
-Experience maintaining records of telecommunication system installations/upgrades to include electronic and paper files.
-Experience presenting recommendations and negotiating solutions to various problems that may arise.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Education:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Other Education:
Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.
