The Transportation Assistant location in the WM. Jennings Bryan Dorn Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina.
Duties

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):
Daily responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS);
Performs a fundamental analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports;
Verifies workload captured is correct;
Reviews documents, reports, or applications for omissions and inconsistencies and ensures complete and accurate data entry;
Maintains an automated system of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, clinic trends, etc;
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 06: Possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position and that is typically in or related to the work of this position? To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to, collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of patient transportation services. Performing fundamental analysis of the data and generating various reports; collating incoming data from multiple sources; reviewing, documenting, reporting, and applying for omissions and inconsistencies; ensuring complete and accurate data entry; entering pertinent information into an automated tracking system.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions: Incumbent will be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude and collective reasoning to overcome. The incumbent is subject to a great deal of stress because of the high volume of work, the need for accuracy, the frequency of interruptions, and the everchanging demands due to program changes. Duties will be predominantly performed in the Veteran Transportation Service program office with intermittent trips to, various locations throughout the Medical Center's catchment area both in and near patient care areas where there is a prevalent risk of exposure to disease.
