The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant to one of the Social Work Service program areas and Supervisor in the Community Care Program, specifically supporting the Contract Nursing Home (CNH) and Adult Day Care (ADC) program that serves veterans. The incumbent provides general clerical assistance to the Community Nursing Home Supervisor by collecting and analyzing data to prepare reports. Performs work of a general support nature which encompasses a variety of different duties.
Duties
Provides general clerical assistance to the Community Nursing Home Supervisor by collecting and analyzing data to prepare reports.
Completes special research projects in support of the CNH program activities.
Reviews documents and reports for completeness and enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system.
Respond to inquiries regarding denials, properly applying policies, procedures, laws, rules and regulations of the CNH/ADC program when determining patient eligibility.
Posts time and attendance
Gathers data and information to assist in the preparation of studies and analyses of manpower and workload requirements
Performs typing work, whether from voice recordings or written material and/or using word
processing software and equipment.
Uses software applications to draw information, such as Vista, access, excel, and word to prepare/assist in preparation of reports.
Effectively communicate with fiscal intermediaries, vendors and contracting regarding CNH funding matters. Maintain obligation registers regarding funds for CNH program.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/25/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: using a computer to analyze or process incoming forms, records, or other documents; determine when new procedures are needed, study and evaluate office equipment and recommend restructure of clerical activities, fact find and provide analysis of issues in accordance with accepted office policies and organizational concepts, monitoring computer systems operations to make sure they run properly; trace transactions from the initial request until items have been received; keeping up with new features in office equipment or procedures; oversee proper implementation of instructions, policies, or procedures; revise procedures or methods to improve efficiency.

Physical Requirements: The work is performed in an office setting which require normal safety precautions typical for offices and meeting rooms. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
