You will serve as a SECURITY SEPCIALIST in the VAULT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of CMIO NORFOLK.

Duties

You will receive and maintain Top Secret and cryptographic materials at the Navy’s only COMSEC distribution depot in support of the Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps unit worldwide. You will assist in the preparation of command information and personnel security procedures including the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). You will verify security clearances of visitors and ensure that visitors are escorted at all times. You will receive and transfer CMS material to and from the Crypto Repair Facility Portsmouth, the Defense Courier Service Norfolk, and the Special Materials Handling Office. You will evaluate and submit policy recommendations and corrections and perform assignments that affect the secure communications of supported units worldwide. You will analyze cryptographic supply transactions. You will possess a thorough knowledge of CMS regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to theGS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with Navy Supply Systems (R Supply, NALCOMIS, ERP, CAV). Experience working in a warehouse management environment. Experience recording material into COMSEC and supply databases. Experience working as a TIER 1 qualified operator. Experience working on COMSEC equipment and inputting material knowledge. Experience managing COMSEC Accounts. Experience with COMSEC policy and procedures. Experience with COMSEC operating systems. Experience working with NAVSUP policies and procedures. Experience applying the information, equipment, automation methods, and materials to achieve optimum quality and productivity in the performance of operating systems, managing control systems, inventory, equipment, warehouse, and materials management. Experience maintaining inventory accuracy and tracking movement for COMSEC and NAVSUP assets. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

OR

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

LL.M., if related
